About the FTAPI Secure Data Report

In an era of growing cybersecurity threats, ensuring the security and integrity of data has become increasingly critical. In particular, data exchange beyond company boundaries presents numerous entry points for cyberattacks.

Despite these risks, encrypted and secure data transfer solutions are still not widely implemented. This is one of the key findings of the Secure Data Report 2024. Commissioned by FTAPI, the study surveyed 200 IT decision-makers from various industries about their approach to secure data transfer.

Given the rising threat of cyberattacks and data breaches, the study highlights the urgent need for effective security measures.

Key Findings:

Awareness of the need for secure transmission methods

The majority of companies already use secure data transfer solutions.

Regulatory requirements as a key driver

Data protection risks and legal regulations, such as GDPR and NIS 2, are the primary reasons for implementing secure data transfer solutions.

Complexity as a barrier

Nearly half of the companies perceive the introduction of encrypted data transfer solutions as complex, which hinders adoption and encourages shadow IT.

Escalating threat landscape

More than one-third of surveyed companies report a worsening cyber threat landscape. Public administrations and non-profit organisations are particularly affected.
