About the FTAPI Secure Data Report

Awareness of cyber risks is continuously increasing, and both businesses and public authorities are implementing various measures to enhance data and information security. While protecting data “at rest” is a priority for many, the protection of data “in motion” is often overlooked.

This is the key finding of the FTAPI Secure Data Report, conducted in collaboration with askallo GmbH. The representative survey of around 200 IT decision-makers from businesses and public institutions across Germany reveals that the risks of unencrypted data transmission are significantly underestimated in many organisations.

Key Findings:

Increased security through firewalls

Nearly 60% of surveyed companies and public institutions rely on firewalls as their primary security measure, followed by tools for password management and backups.

Unencrypted data exchange

Approximately 42% of public institutions use secure data transfer solutions, while only around 35% of companies have implemented similar measures.

Fear of complex solutions

A majority of 65% of companies believe that complex and cumbersome technologies are unlikely to be adopted by employees—often at the expense of security.
