Theresa, our Team Lead for Revenue Operations, has been with FTAPI for over four years. She started as a working student and now leads the Revenue Operations Team. In our chat, she shared what she values most about FTAPI and what she has learned along the way.
How long have you been at FTAPI, what’s your role, and how have you developed?
I started as a working student in marketing at FTAPI in 2019. Now, I lead our Revenue Operations Team, which I helped build with our CEO, Ari. Our team is responsible for breaking down silos between departments and creating a unified, coordinated strategy for the entire customer experience.
Looking back on an exciting four-year journey, I know this isn’t the final destination. What’s great about FTAPI is the immense support I’ve received, allowing me to grow in ways I couldn’t have imagined when I first started. I’m curious to see where the next years will take me—the journey continues!
What do you love most about FTAPI?
I truly value working in such an open and warm environment. I’d never experienced a company that feels like one big group of friends. Since joining FTAPI, I can’t imagine working without this feeling. Whether it’s professional or personal, I can always reach out to my colleagues, and there’s always someone ready to listen. That makes working here genuinely special.
What are your favourite benefits at FTAPI?
I’m a huge fan of our Working Abroad opportunities. In 2021, I took advantage of this for the first time and travelled to Porto, Portugal, with a good friend and colleague, Michelle, from the Account Sales Executive Team. In 2022, kitesurfing opportunities brought us to Fuerteventura, Spain. This year, I’ve been to Lisbon, Portugal, among other places.
The best part? This year, I wasn’t just joined by Michelle but also by our colleague Melli from the Marketing Team. I find it incredibly rewarding to explore new cultures and countries alongside amazing people, all while working. It significantly boosts my productivity and creativity.
What advice do you wish you had at the start of your career?
When I began my journey at FTAPI, I was unsure whether a career in IT was the right path for me. I originally came from the sports events industry and didn’t have much connection to an IT company. A former university friend introduced me to the working student position, so I decided to give it a try.
I’ll admit, it took some time to settle in and fully commit to FTAPI, but once I did, I quickly felt comfortable and supported. That’s why my advice to others is: Be brave, and don’t let the product or industry intimidate you.
At FTAPI, I’ve learned that many amazing, motivated, and young (or young-at-heart) people are ready to support and teach you. The environment is full of potential for growth—take advantage of this opportunity!
FTAPI currently has many open positions. What do you value most in new team members?
To maintain the spirit and positive atmosphere, I believe character and personal motivation are more important than just technical expertise. If someone is genuinely enthusiastic about working with us, they can learn everything they need. Our environment is perfect for that.
When interpersonal skills and motivation align, nothing stands in the way of a successful career at FTAPI.
