Björn, a Senior Sales Manager, has been with FTAPI for over three years. In our chat, he shared his onboarding experience and what fascinates him most about his work.
What was your onboarding experience like at FTAPI?
The entire team took a lot of time to help me settle in right from the start. I had a comprehensive onboarding process, during which I received a lot of exciting insights—for instance, how to use demos to introduce customers to the product and how to make customer meetings as informative as possible.
From day one, I had the opportunity to attend any meeting that piqued my interest. This allowed me to observe how my experienced colleagues presented our products and tailored their approach to the individual needs of customers. I gained a lot of valuable input and was able to enhance my skills.
Additionally, I practised holding demos myself in role-playing sessions with my experienced teammates and received open, constructive feedback. Only after this thorough preparation did I have my first “real” customer meeting, and thanks to the extensive onboarding, I felt comfortable and confident from the start.
You started in Sales Development. How have you grown at FTAPI since then?
Beginning in Sales Development gave me the chance to get to know our customers in-depth, and I gained valuable experience in prospecting. Initially, I focused on arranging demo appointments for my colleagues in Sales. Over time, I began taking over these demos myself.
This progression helped me transition from Sales Development to the Sales Team. The coaching I received—from both my colleagues and external coaches—was incredibly valuable. They equipped me with the necessary skills and guided me through my first successful closing, all while ensuring I felt comfortable and that the tips and techniques suited me personally.
During my journey at FTAPI, I’ve also learned how to be a role model or an inspiration for others, whether by celebrating successes or handling setbacks. At FTAPI, we are a team that motivates and supports each other.
Now, I’ve taken on the role of an Onboarding Buddy for new sales colleagues. I ensure they have a smooth start and share everything they need for a successful career at FTAPI. The tips I received during my onboarding are now passed on to our new team members, and I’m excited to see where our shared journey will take us!

What makes FTAPI special in your view?
At FTAPI, my contributions are recognised and rewarded. We embrace a very open feedback culture, which gives me the opportunity to continuously develop, identify weaknesses, and work on them.
Every day, I have the chance to connect with new people and have interesting conversations. It’s not just about selling our product; it’s about providing real solutions. That’s what makes working at FTAPI so special.
Overall, I’d say that everyone here gives their best for the company. And despite all the hard work, we never forget to have fun!
